Each Clan has its own territory they live in and protect, this page gives a some insight into what these territories are like.

ThunderClan

ThunderClan live in deep woodland.

The Forest Territory

Landmark Description Uses
Tallpines And The Treecut Place Tallpines is a part of the forest controlled by twolegs, it is where twolegs cut down the trees. They bring the logs to the Treecut Place, where they are cut down for use. Usually avoided if possible, but can be a good source of prey.
The Great Sycamore The Great Sycamore is a large sycamore tree. Often used to teach Apprentices how to climb.
The Own Tree The Own Tree is a large tree that is home to owls. When prey is scarce Warriors may follow the owls to locate prey.
Sunningrocks Sunningrocks is a group of rocks at the end of ThunderClan territory near RiverClan. This territory has been fought over with RiverClan for many generations. Cats will often lie on the rocks to bask in the sun, as well as a source of prey.
Snakerocks Snakerocks lies in the shadow of The Great Sycamore and is a group of sandy rocks, it is home to many snakes. It can be a good source of prey, but is avoided if possible because of the adders.
The Sandy Hollow The Sandy Hollow is a dirt clearing sheltered by trees. It is the main place in which mentors will train their Apprentices in fighting and hunting skills.


The Lake Territory

Landmark Description Uses
Greenleaf Twolegplace The Greeleaf Twolegplace is an open area where Twolegs come in greenleaf (a camp site). It is avoiding in Greenleaf because of the Twolegs, but can be a good source of prey.
Abandoned Twoleg Nest The Abandoned Twoleg Nest is a Twoleg nest that was abandoned many seasons ago. It has crumbled away over time, only its walls remain standing. It is an excellent source of prey, mainly mice. It also has useful herbs growing where it once had a garden, including cat mint which rarely grows in the wild.
Sky Oak The Sky Oak is an ancient oak tree and is the largest tree in ThunderClan territory. It is a good source of prey, and is also used to train Apprentices and Warriors in tree battle techniques.
Old Thunderpath The Old Thunderpath is a Thunderpath that led up to the Abandoned Twoleg nest. It is also abandoned and has become overgrown with undergrowth. It has little use, except being a clear path towards the Abandoned Twoleg Nest.
The Mossy Training Hollow The Mossy Training Hollow is a moss covered hollow. It is used to train Apprentices in fighting and hunting skills.





WindClan

WindClan live in open moorland.

The Forest Territory

Landmark Description Uses
Abandoned Badger Set The Abandoned Badger Set is a badger set that was abandoned long ago. It is a good source of prey, and can be a good place for shelter.
Gorge The Gorge is a deep gorge cut by the river in the terrain, it is on the border with RiverClan. It avoided as its very dangerous if a cat were to fall in.
Twoleg Farm The Twoleg Farm is a farm located in the north west of the territory. It is usually avoided, but the outskirts can have prey. It also has given WindClan more knowledge of Twolegs and their animsls than the other clans.
Outlook Rock The Outlook Rock is a large rock that overlooks the moorland. It is used as a look out point, intruders or other threats can be quickly sighted from the rock.
Underground Tunnels The Underground Tunnels are a series of tunnels that burrow beneath the moorland. WindClan cats could be trained as tunnelers where they would learn to burrow through the tunnels. This gave them a surprise advantage in battle.

RiverClan

RiverClan live on open land at the riverside.

The Forest Territory

Landmark Description Uses
The River The River flows alongside RiverClan territory and marks the border with ThunderClan. It is the most important part of RiverClan, they hunt almost entirely on fish caught in the river, as well as learn to become strong swimmers for battle and other uses.
Morgan's Farm Morgan's Farm is a Twolegplace with a camp site. It is usually avoided.

ShadowClan

ShadowClan live in pine woods and marshland.

The Forest Territory

Landmark Description Uses
The Thunderpath The Thunderpath is a thunderpath located at the edge of the territory and marks the border with ThunderClan. It is usually avoided. When they need to cross the thunderpath safely they use a tunnel that goes beneath it.
Carrionplace Carrionplace is a Twoleg dump, which is full of rats and disease. It is avoided if possible, but when prey is scarce they have been known to hunt rats or even eat crow food there. They have experienced a disease academic from a cat eating an infected rat, so only hunt there if very desperate.
The Burnt Sycamore The Burnt Sycamore is an ancient sycamore tree than was struck and burnt by lightning many moons ago. It is often used to train Apprentices in night hunting skills.


The Lake Territory

Landmark Description Uses
Twoleg Nest The Twoleg Nest is a Twoleg nest located in the north west of the territory. It is home to two aggressive Kittypets. It is avoided if possible. The Kittypets have caused problems for the Clan, when they attacked weaker Clan members to show they didn't welcome them. They were set straight when they were warned in an ambush, but the Clan still avoids them.
Twoleg Path The Twoleg Path is a path where Twolegs often walk. It is avoided if possible, as Twolegs are unpredictable and often travel with dogs.





SkyClan

SkyClan prefer to live territory where they can make the best use of their strong hind legs, in tall trees or mountains.

Ancient SkyClan - Forest Territory

Ancient SkyClan lives in woodland with high standing trees similar to ThunderClan's territory.

Modern SkyClan - Gorge

Modern SkyClan live in a mountain gorge.

Landmark Description Uses
Twolegplace The Twolegplace is a twolegplace located just outside the territory. It is home to many Kittypets including some of the Clan cats who live with the clan at day and with Twolegs at night, they are known as 'Daylight Warriors'. Avoided most of the time, although the Daylight Warriors know it well. It has also been used to train cats to learn about Twolegs and the twolegplace.
The Whispering Cave The Whispering Cave is a special cave with 'glowing' moss covered walls, located near the bottom of the gorge. This is where cats share tongues with StarClan. Leaders receive their nine lives here and medicine cats visit every half moon or whenever they need guidance. This is also where they collect moss for bedding and other uses.
The Forest The Forest is a forest just next to the gorge. This is where the Clan hunts.





Other Landmarks

There are many other important landmarks that no one clan can claim as their own.

The Forest Territory

Landmark Description Uses
Twolegplace Twolegplace is group of Twoleg dens (Human houses) at the edge of ThunderClan territory. It stands directly on top of the ancient SkyClan territory. It was home to Firestar when he was a Kittypet called Rusty, and is also home to several other Kittypets, including Firestar's old friend Smudge and sister Princess. It is usually avoided, although some prey can be found on its outskirts.
Fourtrees Fourtrees is a large clearing the the centre of the forest, where four giant oak trees stand. It is used by all four Clans when they meet for a gathering during the full moon truce.
Highstones Highstones is an abandoned quarry to the north west of the Clan's territory. this is where the Moonstone is located. It is easy visible from all of the forest, making it easy for cats to find the Moonstone. It also helps cats who journey away from the forest, by giving a high view of the landscape beyond.
Mothermouth And The Moonstone Mothermouth is a dark cave located in Highstones. The cave leads directly to a larger cave with an open roof where moonlight shines down onto the Moonstone inside. The Moonstone is actually some sort of crystal. The Moonstone is a very special place for the Clan cats and is where they go to share tongues with StarClan. New Leaders receive their nine lives here and Medicine Cats travel here to share tongues with StarClan every half moon. A Clan Leader or Medicine Cat may also visit the Moonstone for guidance when they need help.
Barley's Farm Barley's Farm is a Twoleg Farm on the edge of WindClan territory, two loners called Barley and Ravenpaw (previously a ThunderClan apprentice) live there in an old barn. Traveling cats are often invited by the loners to rest in their barn. The barn is a great course of prey, with lots of mice.


The Lake Territory

Landmark Description Uses
Underground Caves The Underground Caves are a group of tunnels that go directly below the Clans territories which lead to a large cave with a underground river. It is usually avoided and most of the entrances are blocked off. It can be used to invade other Clan territories.
The Lake The Lake is a large lake located at the centre of all four Clan territories. It is the Clan's best source of water. RiverClan also catch fish here and may also use it to train cats to swim.
The Island The Island is an island located not far from the shore of Clan territory. After a tree fell down when struck by lightning it created a bridge over to the island so all cats can cross safely. Ever since, it has been used as the new site for the gathering during the full moon truce. It was also temporarily used by RiverClan as a camp, when their main camp was invaded by Twolegs.
Horseplace The Horseplace is a Twoleg stable, where Twolegs keep their horses. It is home to two cats called Smoky and Floss, and was once home to Daisy and her kits before they joined ThunderClan. It is mostly avoided, but often passed by traveling cats. The Clan cats gathered just outside it for gathering before the tree fell allowing them to use the island.
Moonpool The Moonpool is a clear pool that is located on the edge of the lake. The Moonpool is a very special place for the Clan cats and is where they go to share tongues with StarClan. It was found as an alternative to the Moonstone when the Clans moved from the forest. New Leaders receive their nine lives here and Medicine Cats travel here to share tongues with StarClan every half moon. A Clan Leader or Medicine Cat may also visit the Moonpool for guidance when they need help.
